Maybe your thoughts feel scattered. Maybe everyday noise seems like too much. Or maybe you're simply curious about why concentrating feels harder than it used to.
Those experiences deserve a thoughtful conversation—not assumptions about what is causing them.
Our Brain Health Assessment explores performance on specific sensory-processing tasks. It is not a diagnostic test for postpartum depression, anxiety, or other medical conditions.
These experiences can have many causes. Brain Gauge testing offers one piece of information, not an explanation for every symptom.
Brain Gauge is a noninvasive assessment that uses gentle vibrations delivered to your fingertips while you complete a series of simple tasks.
By measuring how you respond, it gives us information about aspects of sensory processing and performance, such as timing, accuracy, and attention-related task results.
You'll review your results with Dr. Chris, ask questions, and discuss what they may—and may not—tell us.

Pregnancy brings profound changes throughout the body—including the brain. Researchers have documented changes in brain structure during pregnancy and after childbirth, including in regions involved in attention, social processing, and adaptation.
Brain fog, irritability, and feeling mentally overwhelmed are experiences many moms recognize. They can have different causes, and you deserve to have your concerns taken seriously—not simply written off as part of motherhood.
Researchers observed pregnancy-related structural brain changes persisting at least two years.
Repeated MRI scans documented changes during pregnancy and postpartum in one participant.
A longitudinal study investigated brain changes around childbirth.
These studies describe brain remodeling; they do not establish that the changes cause brain fog or that Brain Gauge diagnoses postpartum conditions.
Wondering what to expect? Here are a few things we'd want you to know before coming in.
Brain Gauge uses gentle vibrations on your fingertips and short interactive tasks to assess aspects of sensory processing and performance, such as timing and discrimination. It produces a report we can review together. It is not a brain scan and does not diagnose a medical condition or explain the cause of symptoms.
No needles or electrical stimulation are involved in Brain Gauge testing. You'll feel gentle fingertip vibrations and respond to simple prompts. If anything feels uncomfortable, let us know.
Your visit includes Brain Gauge testing (typically 10–15 minutes), a personalized performance report, and approximately 10 minutes with Dr. Chris to discuss the findings and your questions. Plan on about 35–40 minutes for the full visit at our Murrieta office.
No. Brain fog, fatigue, and feeling overwhelmed can have many causes, but one of them beeing poor brain body connection and coordination triggering the fight or flight response. Brain Gauge provides information about performance on specific sensory tasks related to overall body awareness; it cannot determine why you're experiencing symptoms or diagnose postpartum depression or anxiety other than relating your symptoms to overall brain performance. Persistent or concerning symptoms deserve evaluation by an appropriate healthcare professional.
Not at all. The $79 assessment stands on its own. You'll have the opportunity to review your report, ask questions, and decide whether you want to explore any additional services. There is no obligation to enroll in a program.
Microcurrent neurofeedback is a service offered separately from this assessment. It uses very low-level electrical signals through sensors placed on the scalp. It is a holistic, root cause approach safe for pregnancy and post partum. The goal is to help the brain break free from the fight of flight response and encourage the nervous system to enter into a state of healing and ease rather than treat any symptoms directly. Dr. Chris can explain the approach, uncertainties, and options if you're interested.
